You are doing everything “right,” yet you feel like you’re disappearing. You manage the appointments. You navigate the symptoms. You carry the heavy weight of your responsibilities—to your family, your work, and your home—all while living in a body that feels like a constant negotiation.
But lately, the diagnosis has started to feel like your entire identity. The shame of what you “can’t do” and the isolation of being the only one who truly “gets it” has reached a threshold of exhaustion.

You don’t need more tips or tools. You need a different way to exist.
-
-
Untangling Your Worth: We dismantle the belief that your value is tied to your physical productivity. By separating who you are from what your body can no longer do, we help you reclaim a sense of self that isn’t dictated by a symptom log or the weight of your responsibilities.
-
Processing the Collective Weight: We move the heavy, invisible load of chronic illness out of isolation. By sitting with the grief, anger, and exhaustion of this reality and giving it a name, we ensure it no longer has to take up all the air in your life.
-
Harnessing the Power of the Witness: We facilitate a profound shift that only becomes possible when your story is met by those who truly know the cost. By moving beyond individual “sharing” and into a collective space, we lift the burden of being “the only one” so you can explore what agency looks like now.
-
Reclaiming Your Connection: We bridge the gap between your diagnosis and your desire to show up as a whole, integrated person. By finding the emotional capacity for empowered coexistence, we help you move back into your life and relationships with the ability to care for yourself and the people you love.

Chronic Pain and Illness Group Therapy FAQs
Will there be breaks during the group?
We understand the importance of having breaks during the day therefore we have integrated several breaks across each day. A core belief at Lavender is meeting participants where they are at, which translates to the creation of a group counselling environment that encourages attending to your own comfort and needs, such as adjusting your position, moving around or engaging in self-care.
Is there a washroom on site?
Yes, there is a single-person washroom available in the group room.
What does the group counselling room look like?
Our group counselling room is designed to provide ample room so that each particpant has the ability to be as comfortable as possible.

What if I do not feel well, but would like to still attend the group?
We understand that living with chronic pain and illness can be an uncertain and unpredictable experience therefore we welcome you to show up to group just as you are. We invite participants to engage to the best of their capacity, and at the same time we hope that the environment we create is one where you feel safe enough and comfortable to participate. We continuously strive to create a space for participants where they will feel comfortable and heard.
Are we able to miss any of the group’s days or portions of the day?
Due to the closed nature of this group, participants are required to attend every day. If you decide that you cannot continue attending, you have the right to withdraw from the group at any time and for any reason.
What if I have a flare-up during the intensive?
This is a pacing-friendly environment. We dont view a flare-up as an interruption; we view it as part of the reality we are processing together.
How is this different from weerkly therapy?
We move past the “status update” phase to get into the profound work of identity and agency that usually takes months to reach in 50-minute increments.
Is this covered by insurance?
Many participants claim this under “Group Therapy.” We provide detailed receipts for extended health providers.
What if the group doesn't fill?
If we don’t reach 6 participants, you remain at the top of the list for the very next session.
