Client Feedback

“I would come to other Lavender events and I would refer others because I think it is a valuable endeavour for students. It is a great example of community care for self-care, which is vital for my program.”

Client Feedback

“It seemed that all the facilitators were showing up authentically and with deep empathy. They were perceptive and attentive to group members and worked well together. I would definitely go to another group facilitated by any of them again.”

Join us in person for this group to support you with your clinical work.

This group is intended to help you understand the value and purpose of empathy as an intervention beyond simply developing the therapeutic relationship. It will help you connect more deeply with yourself as empathy necessitates resonating with something inside yourself. It will help you to connect more deeply to others within the group environment who are also seeking to learn more about when, why and how to work with empathy.

This group offers psychoeducation to provide a theoretical basis and an answer to the “when” and “why” of empathy. It will lay the foundation for the experiential exercises designed to assist you in developing a felt sense of the “why” and a more intimate understanding of the “how”. Debriefing alongside fellow group members can assist participants in feeling a sense of comraderie with fellow group memebrs and assist in reducing a sense of isolation in your clinical practice.

Cost: By donation (Clinician suggested $100-$250: Student suggested $50-$100). This group frequently sells out and we turn interested participants away. As such, all no shows or cancellations will be charged a $50 admin fee. This will be strictly enforced.

Facilitators: Brittany Lasanen, MA, RCC, & Allison Esau, M.Ed, RCC, CCC

Time: Sept 29, 8:45am-2:30pm

Location: Lavender Group Therapy, #211-20238 Fraser Hwy, Langley, BC
