Tara Blake - Lavender Counselling

However you are ready to arrive at counselling our work will be collaborative in a safe and mutually respectful space. I am a trauma-informed and person-centred counsellor and my intention is to begin where you are and gently move to where you want to be through empathy, support, and acceptance. Leading with genuineness has helped me connect with people and remain curious about similarities and differences that make us who we are. I want to acknowledge the courage required to start counselling or build trust with a new counsellor and I am honoured be part of that process.
I work with teenagers and adults on a variety of issues including grief and loss, depression, anxiety, OCD, divorce, aging, and personal development. Through my training I have specialized in working with PTSD and complex trauma related to abuse or partner violence. My education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Masters of Counselling (MC) from City University. I have certification as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and Canadian Clinical Counsellor (CCC).
$140+gst/session. For client’s who demonstrate financial need, I offer fees on a limited sliding scale. I also am glad to work with the Crime Victims Assistance Program (CVAP).
