Selena Light - Lavender Counselling

Book

I believe that you are the expert in your own life.  My approach is centred on adapting to your specific needs and goals.  I’m dedicated to working together with you to craft tailored strategies aimed to fostering your growth and healing.
Therapy isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. However, one key element that I firmly believe in, regardless of the approach, is cultivating an authentic and trusting relationship between client and therapist. That’s always my goal for you.
I specialize in working with individuals and families on a variety of relational issues, including conflict resolution and communication problems.  I have experience working with children, youth, young adults, adults, and families with concerns related to anxiety, depression, past trauma, interpersonal issues, shame, self-confidence, life transitions, self-identity, self-empowerment, meaning and purpose.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (BA) from Douglas College, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MA) from City University.  I am also a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) through the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
I acknowledge the apprehension that often accompanies the initial steps toward finding a therapist you can trust. It’s a vulnerable and sometimes daunting process. Yet, it’s also a testament to your courage, self-awareness, and commitment to personal growth. Taking those first steps toward therapy signifies a readiness to confront challenges, invest in self-improvement, and pursue a more rewarding life. It would be my privilege to accompany you on this journey.
