The human experience is often challenging and stressful, leading to unpleasant thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Yet, it is my belief that, with warmth and empathetic guidance, such difficulties are ultimately surmountable. My goal as a Psychotherapist-in-Training is to develop powerful therapeutic alliances that are collaborative, supportive, and filled with compassion. It is an honour and privilege to serve others on their healing journeys.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication, and am currently undergoing my Master of Arts Degree in Counselling Psychology. I also possess Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and some workshop experience in Sandplay Therapy from The Canadian Association of Sandplay Therapy.
Additionally, I lean toward humanistic theoretical orientations such as person-centered and mindfulness-based approaches. My primary orientation of interest is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which is a health-oriented approach focusing on mindfulness-based interventions, such as acceptance and present-moment awareness.
