I work as a collaborative therapist, joining with you in creating a safe space for you to experience healing and deeper connection with yourself and with others. In therapy you can explore the complexity and uniqueness of your story, develop insight and skills to manage and make meaning of your experiences, and empower yourself to live a meaningful life. I commit to meeting you wherever you are at with openness, authenticity, compassion, empathy, and without judgement. I firmly believe that we all have inherent value and hope to encourage you to embrace your truest self.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child and Youth Care (University of the Fraser) Valley), a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology (Adler University) and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BCACC. I am also trained as a level 1 Gottman Method Couples Therapist. I work from an emotion-focused and attachment-based therapeutic lens and have experience and offer counselling to youth, adults and couples in areas such as: trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder and injuries, abuse and healing, emotion regulation, separation and divorce support, relational conflict, premarital/marriage counselling, anxiety, depression, stress management and personal growth.
Additionally, I have been trained as an Occupationally Aware therapist for First Responders by the BC Professional Fire Fighter’s Association. I am informed about the unique culture, strengths and challenges of being a First Responder and can offer services that help keep the mind sharp, strong and healthy to support oneself and their team. As much as possible, I would like to help First Responder’s develop their personal resilience so they can stay on the job, be present with their families and relationships, be a healthy and dependable team member, and enjoy a long and successful career. Allow me to support you supporting the community.
I am constantly humbled by my clients’ courage to pursue growth and healing through the counselling process. I consider it an immense honour to be invited to participate in your journey of healing and self-discovery and commit to honouring your lived experience with respect and appreciation.
